eVersity Training Environment
A hotel group that never existed
Everything on this site — the venues, the people, the phone numbers, the rosters behind the staff login — is fiction, built carefully enough to learn in. This page explains what the Seaview Group is, why it feels so real, and where all those contact details actually go.
What this is
A simulated workplace, not a marketing site
The Seaview Group is a fictional, family-owned Western Australian hospitality group — a city hotel, a restaurant, a cocktail bar, a pub, an events arm and a regional retreat. None of it exists. It was created as a standing simulated industry environment for training and assessment on the eVersity platform, where students in hospitality management units use it the way staff would use a real employer: reading its policies, working within its enterprise agreement, planning against its budgets and building its rosters.
The public site you are reading is the front of house of that simulation. Behind the staff sign-in sits the Seaview Hub — the company intranet students work from during assessment.
Why so lifelike
Fidelity is the teaching surface
A student who learns rostering against a tidy classroom worksheet meets the real thing for the first time on their first job. So the Seaview Group is built to behave like an actual business instead: its industrial instruments have the shape of real ones, its wage budgets have to be reconciled the way real ones do, and its operational data has the texture of a working venue — clock-in exports, availability submissions, function sheets, a trading calendar.
That realism is deliberate pedagogy. The closer the simulation sits to the workplace, the more of the real skill transfers — and the more honestly assessment can ask a student to demonstrate it. The only things that never cross the line into reality are people and identifiers: every name is invented, and no real student or staff information appears anywhere in the environment.
It also means the site can genuinely be mistaken for a real business, which is why the training-site notice appears beside every phone number and email address, and why this page exists.
The contact points
Where the numbers and addresses actually go
Nowhere. The phone numbers are drawn from Australia's reserved fictional range — the same (0x) 5550 numbers used in film and television, which never connect. The email addresses live on the Seaview Group's fictional domain, which delivers no mail. The Promenade booking form makes no booking, and the roles on the careers page are not real jobs.
